Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers improve facial shape and help revitalise your skin
Dermal fillers are used to improve the look of the skin, restore structural support for the face and repair the damage caused by the ageing process. They consist of natural products, most commonly hyaluronic acid (one of the main components of skin).
Dermal fillers offer you a refreshed, youthful look by restoring lost volume, reducing folds and creases, and repairing damage.
What happens during dermal filler treatment?
At the initial consultation, the doctor will discuss your needs and asses your facial features to devise a tailored treatment plan to ensure you achieve the best possible results.
During the treatment, a local anaesthetic cream is first applied for 30 minutes to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The dermal fillers are then administered using ultra-fine needles. The process takes about 30-45 minutes. Some patients experience mild pressure during the the procedure, but this will be minimal (as the products themselves also contain a local anaesthetic).
Results are visible straight away and will continue to improve over the next two weeks.
Is there any down time?
You can return to day-to-day activities immediately.
Straight after the treatment, you may experience a little swelling, which will resolve within 1 day. Some patients can develop minor bruising. These will fade away within a few days and can be easily covered by concealer in the mean time.
Are there any side effects?
Any side effects are mild to moderate, and are always temporary (slight swelling and bruising).
Possible side effects are discussed in more detail during your consultation with a doctor.
When will I see the results?
Results are visible straight after your dermal filler treatment. The treated area needs to be left alone to settle, which will allow the material to integrate with tissue. Your results will continue to improve over the next 2 weeks.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers last for about 6-12 months depending on the location, the product used and the patient.
How much do dermal fillers cost?
The treatment is normally charged per syringe and varies based on the type of product used. Prices start from £250.
